Warsaw Stag News · June 2026 · By Tomasz, CEO – Corpoland · Last updated: May 2026
From 1 June 2026, Warsaw bans the sale of alcohol in shops, kiosks and petrol stations after 10 PM. Bars, clubs and licensed venues are completely unaffected. Private pub crawls remain fully legal. Here is the full picture for stag groups planning a visit this summer.
What Is Warsaw's New Night Alcohol Ban?
Starting 1 June 2026, Warsaw officially rolls out a city-wide ban on alcohol sales in shops, kiosks and petrol stations between 10 PM and 6 AM. The programme, called Bezpieczna Noc ("Safe Night"), was passed by the City Council with a majority of 57 votes to just 2, following a successful pilot in the central Śródmieście and Praga-Północ districts where night-time police interventions dropped noticeably.
Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski stated clearly: We are responding to a real problem — noise, public disturbances,
interventions by services, and sleepless nights for residents.

Does This Affect Your Stag Do in Warsaw?
The short answer: almost not at all, if you have booked a proper stag programme. The ban exclusively targets off-licence retail — corner shops, 24-hour kiosks, supermarkets and petrol stations. Every bar, club, restaurant and nightclub in Warsaw continues to serve alcohol through the night, completely unaffected by this legislation.
What actually changes for a self-catering group is the ability to run to a shop after 10 PM for cheap supplies. That is it. If your group is on a guided night out — with a private pub crawl, bar hopping or club entry included — you will not notice any difference at all.
Practical tip for stag groups: Stock your apartment or hotel room with drinks before 10 PM on arrival day.
After that, every licensed venue in Warsaw is your bar — open all night, fully legal.
"The guys who cause problems are not the ones booking proper nights out — they're the ones buying cheap vodka at petrol stations at 3 AM. For our groups, nothing changes. If anything, the streets will be calmer and the bars will be busier."
Prague Already Banned Pub Crawls — Warsaw Is a Different Story
It is worth putting Warsaw in context — because other popular stag cities have gone much further.
In October 2024, Prague's City Council voted to ban all organised pub crawls between 10 PM and 6 AM,
with fines of up to 100,000 CZK (approx. €4,000) for operators caught running them.
Prague's Deputy Mayor Zdeněk Hřib was explicit: Guided tours will not be allowed between 10 PM and 6 AM.
Prague went further still — one central district council proposed banning stag groups from wearing "silly costumes,"
citing noise and disruption to families and elderly residents. The city's stated aim was to stop attracting tourists
who come for a short time only to get drunk
— a direct swipe at the stag and hen market.
Barcelona and Amsterdam have implemented similar crackdowns on organised bar tours.
Warsaw's new rule is categorically different. It restricts off-licence retail only. There is no pub crawl ban, no costume restriction, no cap on group sizes, and no curfew on licensed premises. Warsaw is choosing to be smarter about tourism — not hostile to it.

The Smart Solution: Book a Private Pub Crawl in Warsaw
Here is where Warsaw stag groups hold a decisive advantage over every other European city right now. While Prague has outlawed commercial bar tours at night, and Amsterdam and Barcelona have tightened their rules, Warsaw's private pub crawls remain fully legal, professionally organised, and purpose-built for stag groups.
A private crawl means your group never needs a corner shop after dark anyway — welcome shots are included in every venue, a female guide picks you up at your hotel, and skip-the-queue entry is arranged in advance. You move as one group, at your own pace, in venues pre-checked for safety and atmosphere.
What's Included in a Private Warsaw Pub Crawl
- No strangers mixed into your group — entirely private, for your stag only
- Dedicated female guide with hotel pick-up included
- Welcome shot in each bar — no shop runs needed after dark
- Skip-the-queue and pre-arranged entry at every venue
- Optional Party Bus, Limo or Hummer transfer from hotel to pub area
- Club & strip club upgrade with table reservation from approx. €5 per person
- All venues pre-checked — central Warsaw, safe, popular with locals

Residents Support It — And That's Good News for Visitors Too
In public consultations held in 2024, 81% of Warsaw residents supported the ban, and of those, 97% wanted it applied city-wide rather than just in selected districts. This level of civic support signals a city that is confident about its identity — not one turning its back on visitors.
A calmer public atmosphere at night means fewer incidents, a better reputation, and a nightlife scene where
quality venues thrive. One Warsaw resident told Euronews simply: Thanks to this, it will be much calmer.
For stag groups, that means the bars filling up are the ones worth going to — and the chaotic street scene
that gave Warsaw an undeserved rough reputation gets cleaned up.

"I've been running Warsaw stag weekends for over a decade. Every time a new regulation comes in — and there have been several — groups that book with us feel zero impact. That's by design. We work inside the rules, in proper venues, with a team that knows every door in this city. Warsaw is not closing its doors to stag groups. It is simply raising the bar on how the night is done — and we have always operated at that bar."
